Introduction to Food Science and Technology (Quality Control and Hygiene Concentration)
The history of this field dates back to 1961 when the Institute of Food and Nutrition of Iran (now renamed as the National Nutrition and Food Technology Research Institute) began offering undergraduate courses in Nutrition and Food Chemistry. In 1963, the Food Science and Engineering Department at the College of Agriculture, University of Tehran, became the first educational group dedicated to food industries under the Ministry of Science. In 2007, the Ministry of Health established this specific concentration to train specialists in quality control and food hygiene.
